Depression Era Cooking
My dad was born in 1931. His dad died in 1937 leaving behind a pregnant wife, a six year old (my dad) and a 12 year old. My grandma was deaf, so the only job available to her at the time was as a laundromat attendant. In 1937 there was no Social Security, Welfare, or any of the things now available to a widow with young children. You can imagine how poor they were. One of these days I will share some of the recipes my dad used to make from his childhood.

I love her! I watched another one after this one! Where did you dig that one up?
Isn't she great?! I found her on a blog somewhere (The Vegan Lunch Box, maybe?) I hope she puts more videos up. She makes me miss my grandma.
